So, after all the cutting in my last post, I have finally finished reconstructing my old skirt into a top!
The 2
up until the yellow mark.
The skirt is now upside down - bottom of skirt is now at top.
I measured my arm hole, divided it by 2.
Took this measurement and marked it from the top.
With the bottom of the skirt now at the top,
it sits nicely on my shoulders!
I used hooks & eyes to hold the top together at the top.
I also added the elasticated waist band to the top
at the bottom (what was originally the top of the skirt)
I think it goes well with jeans, and
maybe good enough for work!
I was thinking if I had bought a teal coloured lace instead,
it would look great!
Update - crafters in colder climates can go for a long sleeved version. Check out mytwobutterflies! She has used a more flowy and woolly skirt compared to my pencil shaped skirt.
