I chose to stitch David Bowie because he's always changing his persona to express himself, and very artistically too. Having an alter ego usually draws comparisons with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, or even Jack Napier and the Joker. However, having an alter ego can empower you, especially when you need to break boundaries or step out of your comfort zone, or even enhancing your personal growth.
I recently read this article in Huffington Post, and came across this:
We all need our second self to push through to make things work and grow, to make ourselves grow. Many people have alter egos. For example, Sascha Fierce and Beyonce, and Lady Gaga and Stefani Germanotta. There's also Peter Parker and Spiderman, and the well loved Clark Kent and Superman.
Who is your alter ego?
Only you know what the characteristics of your alter ego are for you to make positive change. There is no silver bullet, as it will take a while to slowly peel away the layers of skin that keep you guarded from growing. But beneath all of that, you'll find your alter ego that will help you get things done.Read more about alter egos in this article from Psychology Today.
