DIY Snowflakes

The weather here has been terrible these past few days. One minute it's raining cats and dogs, and the next it's bright and sunny. Not sure whether I should remain indoor or out! We decided to stay indoors yesterday and I raided my hubby's CD-ROM stack. He had lots of CD-ROMS that had not been used for over 10 years. In the end, my little boy and I made snowflakes which we hung just outside the hallway. It's a great addition to our Christmas decorations!

I think everyone knows how to make paper snowflakes
so I won't go into it in detail. I used old magazines to get
the different details & colours - no need to buy paper!

My son pondering over what part of the
magazine to cut out the snowflakes!

Old CD-ROMS - thanks hubby!!

The CD-ROMS add sparkle and provide a hard backing
to the paper snowflakes. Use craft glue or a glue stick

to stick the snowflakes on!

String them together...
Hanging outside our hallway.

  1. Great idea to use those old CDS to add sparkle to the snowflakes!!

We've had the same weather here - I'm off now to try and mow our lawn while it's sunny - more heavy rain is coming this afternoon - and our garden is rapidly turning into a jungle!!
